After looking at the numerous game variations of checkers, it is very evident how far the game has been changed and modified for the better. To win the game, it is somehow necessary for the players to hand over their pieces to the opposing players as long as the rules allow. As opposed to the basic rules of checkers, the player who can successfully lose the pieces will be declared the winner. Losing draughts, giveaway checkers, and anti-checkers are popular names used by players to refer to this game variation.

Meanwhile, cheskers is another beautifully designed variation of checkers. Conceptualized by Solomon Golomb, this game starts out with knights and bishops moving around the dark colored squares of the board. As the pieces reach the opposite end of the board, they would be promoted to higher ranks, which can easily move and have serious advantage over ordinary pieces. According to some experts, this game tries to combine a few elements of chess with some of the interesting principles and aspects of checkers.

On the other hand, Lasca is another unique checkers variant that is played on an extraordinary 7 by 7 checkerboard. Conceptualized by Emanuel Lasker, a former world champion of chess, this game promises to bring an entirely different story. The game has been injected with unique features that are guaranteed to make the game more interesting and fun to play with.

While these three checkers variations present a different light to the basic nature of the game, other games are still available that would definitely suit the varying tastes of players worldwide. Games like the standoff, DaMath, and Tiers are unique in their own kind of ways. With all these games present, it is very hard to deny the fact that checkers has been a well-participated game since its invention way back in the past.
